Israel Maneuvers a Stormy Regional Environment

With barely a month to go before it holds Knesset elections shortly followed by efforts to form a new government, Israel is navigating a stormy Middle East from sea to shining sea, the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf and everything in between. Yet, strangely enough, the future course that the Jewish State should choose is not in fact a campaign issue. The political discourse centers on character, accountability for past failures and projected internal alliances, with hardly any attention paid to alternative policies vis-a-vis Iran, Gaza or Lebanon.
