The IDF-Hezbollah Calculus

For more than four decades, the Islamic rulers of Iran have built the Lebanese Shiite terror group Hezbollah to be a constant military threat on Israel’s northern border. Iran then called in its chips when it was attacked by the US and Israel, prompting Hezbollah to join the fight and harass the civilian communities of the Galilee. When Israel responded by taking over a narrow strip of Southern Lebanon and striking Hezbollah assets in Beirut, Iran then used the cessation of hostilities on the Israeli Lebanese front as a condition in both its ceasefire with the US and subsequent talks on reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Is it fair to expect the US and Israel to accept this linkage?
